Graziella Bertocchi

Graziella Bertocchi is Professor of Economics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. She is a Research Fellow of CEPR and IZA, a member of the scientific council of CHILD and Director of RECent (Center for Economic Research). She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and has been an Assistant Professor at Brown University. She has held visiting positions at the European University Institute, New York University, the Catholic University of Louvain and IGIER-Bocconi. Bertocchi's recent research has focused on macroeconomics, political economy and the interaction between economic growth and institutions in a historical perspective. She has written contributions on migration policy, the impact of family structure, the effects of colonization, and the development of the welfare state.
