Davide Cantoni

Davide Cantoni is an economist working on the topics of economic history, political economy and long-run development. Born and raised in Milan, he studied economics in Mannheim, Berkeley, and Harvard, where he obtained his Ph.D. in 2010. After having worked as assistant professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain), he is now Chair of Economic History (tenure-track) at the University of Munich, Germany. His research covers various topics such as medieval universities, Protestantism in early modern Germany, the French Revolution, and television viewership in communist East Germany. His papers have been published by the American Economic Review and the Economic Journal.
